In this video, we show you how to make a simple, high‑calorie iced coffee using a plant‑based fortified drink to boost energy and protein. This easy recipe is ideal for anyone with poor appetite, low intake or increased nutritional needs. We also share hot drink alternatives, including mocha and flavoured latte options, so you can tailor it to your preference.

Recipe

Shot of coffee

Make a shot of your favourite coffee.

Add ice

Add some ice to a glass.

Pour

Put your coffee over the ice.

Add shake

Add your AYMES Actagain 1.5 Plant Powered over the coffee. Stir it.

Alternative: hot drink

If you prefer a hot drink, skip the ice and use a chocolate-flavoured shake for a mocha-style drink or a vanilla-flavoured shake for a latte-style version instead.

Caryn Straker

Caryn studied for a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics at the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa, qualifying in 1997. She has worked as a dietitian in both South Africa and the UK since 2000, gaining experience in hospitals, the community and private practice. Since 2013, she has focused her practice in care homes, using her expertise to enhance the well-being of residents. Here she supports placements for dietetic students from London Metropolitan University as well as regularly lecturing at University Collage London on both care home nutrition and nutrition in palliative care.
