jewish traditions

Traditions and rituals are respected.

we welcome and are inclusive to all

Nightingale House and Hammerson House, Wohl Campus are Jewish homes, respecting everyone’s religious traditions, as well as those who consider themselves non-religious, cultural Jews.

Shabbat and all major Jewish holidays and festivals are celebrated around our homes and within households.  We also incorporate many Jewish themes within our engagement and reminiscence programmes.   Services are very much shaped around the needs and abilities of our residents, some of whom would find it hard to sit through a full length service.  Friends and family are also very welcome to join us for services.

Everything here is really excellent.

I think Nightingale is very unique. It is a beacon, a beacon of not only care, but also of Jewish life."
