9 Feb 2023
Nightingale Hammerson are pleased to welcome four postgraduate Speech and Language Therapy students, Alice, Jude, Emily and Louise, and their Clinical Supervisor, Lydia, to Nightingale House where they will be spending one day a week for their clinical placement. During this placement, they will be working on observing and assessing Residents with communication difficulties, supporting communication skills and increasing communication opportunities, as well as working alongside the Engagement Team to develop group sessions for Residents. The Dietitian will also help facilitate opportunities to learn and develop skills with regards to swallowing difficulties.
The students had a fabulous first day at Nightingale House and were able to participate in an intergenerational activity as well as exploring the Home and getting to know us all better. Feedback from their Clinical Supervisor after day one included the following. “I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the warm welcome and comprehensive introduction to Nightingale House yesterday. My students are delighted to be in such a friendly, inclusive and pioneering setting!”
