Spring has sprung at Nightingale Hammerson! We’re thrilled to share that our Head Gardener, Phil White, won the ‘Compassion Award’ at the 3rd Sector Care Awards. Phil’s exceptional compassion, extending far beyond his role, touched hearts and earned him this well-deserved recognition.
During his acceptance speech, Phil shared a touching story of his relationship with Resident Collette, who has lost her sight. He described how he brought our garden to life for her through sensory experiences, including scent, touch and descriptive narration. Phil’s thoughtful gestures, like recording sounds from his travels for Collette to enjoy, truly demonstrate his dedication to enhancing her quality of life.
At Nightingale Hammerson, we’re proud to also have been announced as finalists for the ‘Dementia Care Award’ and ‘End-of-Life Award’, standing out among hundreds of entries.
