At the very heart of our ethos is our exceptional programme of activities. Our vision is to improve the quality of residents’ lives by providing stimulating and enjoyable engagement.
The Activities Team takes a holistic approach in order to understand the needs of each person, using our Relationship Centred Care model, building a relationship that continues throughout their stay and to encourage independence.
With residents from all walks of life, with a great range of hobbies and interests, as well as different physical and mental abilities, we strive to ensure that there is something for everyone. Our wonderful team of volunteers enable us to provide a huge amount of diversity with all that we do; leading groups to host Bridge Club, French Conversation, Men’s Group, poetry discussions, Rummikub and our regular League of Jewish Women’s coffee mornings, to name but a few. Each Household also enjoys a weekly dedicated programme of activities.
The Activity Hub provides an array of activities, including baking, cooking, pottery, textiles, arts and special projects. The Concert Hall enables us to host a variety of musical entertainment from our professional contacts and our friends in our community.
Our programme is enriched by our collaborations with various music, art and drama institutions, such as the Ben Uri Gallery, Live Music Now! and the Central School of Speech and Drama. Our Playlist Co-ordinator also develops personalised music playlists.
We have our own minibus and this enables us to enjoy going on many different excursions, to a wide variety of attractions, throughout the year.
We are developing our IT facilities to include the use of Smart TV’s and tablets for residents to use, with support, as required.
