Leadership Appointments at Nightingale Hammerson

20 Jan 2025

Dear Friends,

I am delighted to share some wonderful news about two esteemed members of the Nightingale Hammerson community.

After 12 years of dedicated service and exceptional leadership as both Trustee and Chair of the Board, Melvin Lawson has been appointed to the role of President of Nightingale Hammerson. Melvin’s wealth of experience, strategic vision and remarkable fundraising success has been instrumental in shaping our organisation. Melvin led the organisation through some very trying times during the covid pandemic and was instrumental in bringing together the redevelopment of Hammerson House Wohl Campus. I am delighted that he will continue to offer his wise counsel and support to me as Chair, and to our charity as President.

We are likewise delighted to recognise Harvey Rosenblatt MBE’s exceptional dedication, commitment and passion for Nightingale Hammerson by appointing him to the role of Honorary President following his long-standing role as President. Harvey has been a driving force of the charity for over 20 years, during which time he has acted as Chair, Trustee and President. His tremendous achievements over the years, including the merger between Nightingale and Hammerson, culminated in the redevelopment of our wonderful campus at Hammerson House. For this, he deserves our enormous gratitude, and I am delighted that the charity will continue to benefit from his valued support and commitment as well as his unparallelled experience.

With the continued guidance of Melvin and Harvey as well as the drive and enthusiasm of our dedicated and talented Trustee Board and Senior leadership team, we will ensure the success of Nightingale House’s refurbishment and the growth of the Reach programme. This new initiative will support our Jewish community with the highest standards of care and compassion.

Chief Executive, Jenny Pattinson, says, “I am delighted that both Melvin and Harvey will remain in senior roles, driving a new chapter for our charity. Steadfast and unyielding in their support and vision, they always have our Residents’ best interests at heart.”

We are deeply grateful for Melvin and Harvey’s unwavering commitment, and I look forward to continuing to work closely with them as we continue to strengthen Nightingale Hammerson’s future.

With warm regards,

Paul Althasen

Chair
