Relationship Centred Care in Care Homes article

In a recent collaboration, Reach by Nightingale Hammerson (United Kingdom) and Macrosad (Spain) published an article describing the concepts and key steps in implementing Relationship Centred Care in care homes.

Moving into a care home can be a stressful experience for the new resident and relatives but also presents its challenges to the professionals involved in the care of the person.

The Relationship Centred Care approach can support the creation of an environment of belonging between all the people involved in the care provision and improve the Residents’ quality of life.

Titled “Relationship Centred Care in Care Homes: Concept and Key Steps to its Implementation”, the paper brings together the practical experience from two outstanding care providers that have been caring for older communities in England and Spain.

We invite all social care leaders, professionals, volunteers and service users to read the article and challenge current practices, in order to create a more cohesive environment within the care home communities.
