There’s something special about a recipe that has been loved, shared and perfected over the years. This delicious honey cake comes from one of our trustees and has become a favourite around both our homes.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb self raising flour, plus extra for dusting
- 10 ounces caster sugar
- 1½ teaspoon mixed spice
- 1½ teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda (heaped)
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- Pinch of salt
- 1 cup golden syrup
- 8 fl oz boiling water
- 3 large eggs
- 8 fl oz sunflower oil
Cooking Procedure:
- Preheat oven to 150C
- Butter and flour a large baking tin
- Mix together all the dry ingredients in Magimix
- Add the golden syrup, water and oil and blend together
- Add the eggs
- Bake at 150C for 1 ¼ hours
- Let it cool and enjoy!
