Our volunteers make a huge difference to life at Nightingale Hammerson and we’re proud to celebrate one of our dedicated long standing volunteers, Jacqui.
Jacqui’s journey began in 2007 when her father became a Resident at Nightingale House. After helping with a weekly quiz and tea session, she continued volunteering even after his passing, wanting to give back to the home that cared for him so well.
Later, her mother, Margie, also became a Resident and was a much-loved and active member of the community until she passed away in 2019. Today, Jacqui supports our Residents in many ways from running discussion groups, music sessions and book clubs, to accompanying outings, helping at fundraising events and serving on the volunteer committee.
She is also currently working with Phil the gardener on an exciting project to replant the Nightingale House gardens, creating colourful sensory spaces and an animal sculpture trail for Residents and visitors to enjoy.
Thank you for your incredible dedication and for continuing to make such a difference to our community.
