Our vision, mission & strategy

  • Everything we do is with a resident’s first approach and we link this to the Nightingale Hammerson Vision & Strategy
  • This is captured in our key objectives which have been shaped in response to ensure we maintain our current CQC status (Outstanding) and continue to strive
  • Our care home has been running for over 175 years and one which is proud of its heritage, faith and more importantly the key provider of care for the Jewish community

Vision

  • Nightingale Hammerson strives to be a leading provider of quality person centered care for older Jewish people
  • To be the Centre of Excellence for high quality care for older Jewish people

Mission

  • To provide holistic quality care, assistance and support to older Jewish people in a safe and stimulating environment using dedicated, skilled staff and volunteers

Strategy

In developing the strategic priorities for our people, feedback from key stakeholders was sought. This included a workshop with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Head of Departments (HoD’s), education and development group and the HR and Volunteers team. The strategy has been informed by The Strategy Tree (2018-2021):

  1. We will listen to our residents, families and friends to ensure we focus on the things that matter most to them
  2. We will become a Teaching & Learning Care Home, developing all our people and effectively capturing and sharing knowledge
  3. We will raise the standards of our care environments by improving and investing in our buildings to make them safe and stimulating
  4. We will be a sustainable organisation by working more effectively and by investing in and marketing our services and fundraising
  5. We will be recognised as a leading source of consistently high residential care to the Jewish Community and the Social Care sector
  6. We will have engaged and motivated staff through great leadership and support

“I love my residents – I love looking after them as they are like family. We are being stretched physically and mentally at this time, but we adapt to this because our residents need us.”

Helena, Healthcare Assistant

“My motivation to come in every day is the same as it has always been. I am passionate about the care for our residents. It is in my core. In my blood.”

Clemence, Head of Nursing

“Nightingale House defines me, my ongoing learning and support, my friendships, our residents and their next of kin – they are all like my family.”
